Cryoglobulins are immunoglobulins that precipitate upon storage at refrigerated temperatures ( 4 °C).Type I cryoglobulins are typically IgM seen in Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia leading to hyperviscosity syndrome. Type II cryoglobulins are both IgM & IgG and commonly encountered in Rheumatoid arthritis and Chronic Hepatitis C virus infection. Type III cryoglobulins are found in chronic infections and inflammatory states.
