Components:

A serious liver disease caused by infection with the hepatitis D virus.
Hepatitis D only occurs amongst people who are infected with the Hepatitis B virus. Transmission requires contact with infectious blood. At-risk populations include intravenous drug abusers and men who have sex with men. Symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea and fatigue.
There are few treatments specifically for hepatitis D, although different regimes may be tried. Management also focuses on supportive care.
